Embracing Frustration - A Part of Personal Growth

Kia ora all, in this week's blog I wanted to talk about that feeling we have when we pour our heart and soul into something. Giving it everything we've got, but things just don't seem to be working out the way we hoped. It's like, "What the heck? Why am I not making any progress?" I have definitely felt like that lately. I've been reflecting on how frustrated I am by my current circumstances and the feeling that I should be doing better or should be further. I feel like I've dedicated years, sometimes over a decade to the things I love and for what? Feels like there has been little pay off or progress. But you know what? I realize that this frustration is completely normal and can actually be a powerful catalyst for personal growth.  Here are four areas I pondered on during the week.

1. Feeling Frustrated is a Part of the Journey:

As I sit down to write this week's blog, I can't help but acknowledge the frustration that has been bubbling up within me. Today I have felt a bit of fury. It's that nagging feeling that I should be further along in my journey, achieving more, or making a bigger impact. But here's the thing - feeling frustrated is a natural part of the process. It's a sign that I have dreams, ambitions, and a hunger for something more. So, although I'm still irritated and frustrated I know that instead of beating myself up over it, I'm choosing to embrace this frustration as a normal and necessary part of my growth.

2. Recognizing the Motivational Power of Frustration:

This week, I've come to realize that frustration can actually be a powerful motivator. It's like a wake-up call, reminding me that I deserve better and pushing me to take action. Instead of wallowing in my frustration, I'm channeling it into fuel for change. It's that little voice in my head reminding me I can do better.

3. Embracing Frustration as a Catalyst for Positive Change:

I'm not there yet but I have been working hard on not viewing frustration as a negative emotion. I'm reframing it as an opportunity for growth. It's a chance to reassess my goals, evaluate my current circumstances, and make necessary adjustments. I'm opening myself up to new possibilities and pushing myself to step outside of my comfort zone even more.

4. Not Letting Frustration Stop Me:

Dealing with frustration can be tough, but I'm not letting it stop me from reaching my goals. I'm determined to keep pushing forward, no matter what obstacles come my way. Frustration is just a chance for me to learn and grow. I know setbacks are a normal part of any journey, but I'm committed to ways ti overcome my challenges.

This week I've been reminding myself that feeling frustrated is completely normal. It's a sign that we have aspirations and a desire for more. Instead of letting frustration bring me down which it has, I'm working on reframing it and using it as my catalyst to do better.
